!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Motortrend reporting rumor from "multiple sources" that the next Corvette ZR1 will be mid-engined. Supposedly going to be served up on the C7 ZR1 only, and then on all C8's. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
Article is a good read though.

1. Take Corvette
2. Make Mid-Engine
3. Put Cadillac Badge
4. Make it awesome
5. Bring it to Pebble Beach
6. Dont sell it.
7. Make all involved sad.

Sigh...I want images back.
I'll believe it when I see it. Good luck converting corvette fandom to MR. It's already mid engined anyways.

You're gonna have to wait like 4 years before they even announce it.

Dumb. Call it something else, as that isn't a corvette.
That said, a mid-engine chevy supercar would be F'ing sweet.
Also, not happening. This rumor has popped up so many times and has never been true.
Where have all the lightweights gone?

You're talking about the Cadillac Cien concept, aren't you?

I forget which one of the 'Vette team members said it, but there's a quote about the transition to the fixed headlights in the C6 and the atrocious rear in the C7 with the guy basically saying DEAL WITH IT to the public. It was certainly a "we will build it and we don't care if they like it since it will sell anyway" attitude.
Wasn't there some upcoming GM announcement? Is this it?

There's been rumors about it since the Aerovette. It won't end anytime soon.
Now it'd be funny if GM did build it and named it Corvair.

As much as I want it to happen (imagine the bananas GT3 version), I'm just not buying it. When was the last time General Motors did anything radical?
Then again, maybe a mid-engine Corvette wouldn't be that radical since they've been toying with the idea since the 1960s.
